San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration

The Irish Community of San Francisco has hosted a St. Patrick’s Day Parade every year for the last 174 years. This parade is widely recognized as a San Francisco institution. However, we recognize we do not survive as an immigrant Community without working together with people of all cultures and backgrounds. We all (the various cultural communities) built this City by working together, helping each other along the way while working for the greater goal of San Francisco. That is why this year, under the umbrella of the United Irish Societies, we are excited to announce our very first Unite SF Celebration, which reshapes the Parade to be more inclusive of all of San Francisco.

The mission of Unite SF is to share St. Patrick’s Day with everyone to unite, embrace, and celebrate all the unique cultural groups across this fine city. San Francisco is such an amazing place to live - a true melting pot of global cultures. Unite SF will bring together these incredibly diverse communities with a joint celebration of dance, music, arts, and food – think Irish dancing to a mariachi band with Chinese dragons and African drums, and you are on the right track. Unite SF will be bringing the best of all our communities together during and after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, for one huge celebration of the people and cultures of this fantastic city.

Our city needs this cross-cultural collaboration. That is the message we want to send and celebrate, and we hope you agree. With your support, we know this will be something all San Franciscans will look forward to, year after year.

Let’s show the world the true heart of San Francisco by joining together to Unite SF!
